Every one of us already has the ability to astral project. Many people astral project without being aware of it. However, it is learning to control the experience while astral projecting which is important and is what we will be discussing here.
We’ll assume that you already know about the astral plane and the astral body. Instead of defining these terms, we’ll cover methods of learning how to astral project. It’s something that everyone does a little differently, so you need to find the techniques which perform the best for you individually.
The following technique is a five-step process which can be done as you’re lying in bed before you fall asleep.
*First; Relax your entire body completely. The best way to do this is to start with your toes and work your way upwards, tensing and then relaxing each part of your body. You’ll become deeply relaxed as you do this and your body may feel extremely heavy; this is perfectly normal.
*Second; Take slow, deep breaths and concentrate on the feeling of the air filling your lungs. When you exhale, do so slowly and visualize your stress and tension exiting your body with each breath. You’ll need to stay focused during this step, since it’s easy to fall asleep when you’re this deeply relaxed.
*Third; Focus on the deeply relaxed way your body feels; it probably feels like stone or clay; that is to say, heavy and difficult to move. Next, concentrate on the weightlessness of your astral body and picture it floating up out of your physical body.
*Fourth ; Right now, you may experience what many people do while practicing this technique; the sensation of seeing around in your darkened room, even with your eyes closed. The room will appear to be illuminated by a purple light. If you experience this, try to focus on the ceiling.
*Fifth; Visualize yourself pulling this light from the ceiling towards your astral body. You’ll feel like your floating (your astral body will in fact be floating; if you look down, you might see your physical body still in bed).
If you’ve been able to make it through all of these steps, you’ve done it! You can now depart on astral travels. If you can’t astral project this way, there’s another method which you can try.
This one is known as the gazing technique and it’s actually quite simple. Choose an object which you can see while you’re lying in bed and focus on it. It doesn’t matter what this object is, just make sure that it will be within your line of sight while you’re lying down.
With this object in your line of sight, lie in bed and focus on it. Even as your eyes begin to feel heavy, continue to focus on the object, staring at it. Eventually you won’t be able to keep your eyes open, but you should be able to see it even now with your eyes closed. You might feel like sitting or standing, so go ahead; but don’t panic when you see your sleeping physical body lying in bed!
Don’t give up if you don’t succeed the first time you try these techniques. Practice makes perfect and if you just aren’t having luck with these methods, there are plenty of others you can try. Just stick with it and be patient and you’ll learn how to astral project sooner than you think.
What’s really important isn’t how you get there, but that you can overcome your subconscious skepticism about astral projection. You have to repeat to your subconscious that there’s nothing to worry about and it’s OK for your astral body to leave on its travels. You can use affirmations to communicate this to your subconscious.
Plenty of techniques can help you learn how to astral travel; you’ll find the right one for you with a little practice and possibly some trial and error.
Hypnosis is something which a lot of people find helps them to astral project. Especially for beginners, a guided hypnosis session can help. Having an expert there to tell you what’s happening and what to do next at each step is valuable guidance.
There are also new audio technologies which can help you to astral project. One particularly interesting one involves something called binaural beats. Different frequencies are played in each of the listener’s ears, quickly producing the deeply relaxed state needed for astral projection.
It’s really not that hard to learn how to astral project. It’s simply a matter of practice. You already have this capacity, but you’ll need to work at it to develop this skill. Just like learning to ride a bike, it’s something you can already do, but some practice is needed to train yourself to do it well.
