Luxury Holidays immediate make you think of money and opulence. You think about things like silk bed sheets, quail eggs for breakfast and helpers waiting on you hand and foot as the components of a luxury holiday then you are likely at the upper end of top earners. Surely during these lean, austere times, any sort of holiday would be a luxury. I’d argue that in these austere economic conditions, any holiday is a luxury holiday, if nothing else a holiday is certainly exclusive.

So what would you class as a luxury holiday? Perhaps you need to secure what a luxury holiday isn’t to find out what one truly is. Does it come down to the distance travelled? If so does that mean a English country cottage retreat can never be termed luxury in the same way as say, Thailand holidayssimply because of the destination’s distance from your home?

Perhaps it is the culture of the country you are visiting that makes a holiday luxury, the hospitality of the inhabitants and the richness and depth of the local history. If you define luxury this way that by definition, Greece with its early civilsation ruins would be the most luxurious places in the world, but what about the drunk teens on costal resorts?.

What about the cost? Does a luxury holiday need to be pricey?? You could spend a fortune on Dubai Holidays but would they be luxurious? Dubai has many strict rules and regulations that do not necessarily make for the most relaxing holiday, if you are not totally relaxed on holiday then are you really in the lap of luxury?
