The Caribbean is a name that conjures up images of lush tropical greenery, sparkling blue waters and stretches of sun-soaked beaches of pristine white sand.  Simply imagining about it while on a break at the workplace is sufficient to make us stop thinking about the pressure and stress of everyday life.  Thus, a week in one of its island destinations such as the Barbados or Antigua is the ultimate experience.  For most of us working people not blessed with NBA-level basketball skills, America’s Next Top Model genes, and Diddy-esque advertising ability nevertheless, relaxing in one of the holiday villas in Barbados is simply a product of our dreams.  Why reduce ourselves to dreaming though?  A whole life of working merits a break every now and then.  We all have to release some stress in case we become exhausted, so snatch your shades and those fashionable boardshorts you purchased last winter sale and jump on the following plane to Rihanna’s beautiful homeland!

Of course, rental for luxury villas Barbados can be costly and to spend a year of savings for a tropical holiday is a tad impractical for the regular Joe.  On the other hand, there are Barbados villa rentals that aren’t that high-priced if you can live without central air-conditioning, round the clock kitchen and maid service.  All tropical cottages are located in idyllic surroundings, some lying on a hill with a view of the undulating waves whilst others are in the middle of a carefully landscaped tropical garden.  Still, other villas are just right next to the shore where you can jump and frolic in the refreshing Caribbean waters.  This is why staying in among the cheaper holiday homes can still be the most unforgettable and the best holiday with your special someone and your family.  If you’re travelling as a family or a group of friends, Barbados villas can even be economical than staying in several rooms in a hotel.  In addition, the privacy and isolation that you experience living in a tropical island abode lets you fulfill your ultimate holiday break.

There is some debate, however, concerning where the island’s name Barbados originated.  Some claim it originated from the bearded Caribs that once populated the island as the Spanish name for beard is ‘barbas’ while others say it was derived from the bearded fig tree breeding all over the island.  Situated in the eastern part of the West Indies, Barbados is pretty safe from natural calamities and typhoons.  Its wet season is during the months of July towards November.  But rainshowers are often brief and fleeting so scheduling your vacation trip in these months would not actually impede your idea of frolic and fun under the Caribbean sun.  Food in Barbados is superb and world-class and there are many ways to have fun for all ages.  Nightlife is lively with a variety of live music and bars playing everything from reggae to modern dance.
